Terms of Service
Effective date: April 26, 2026
Zero Ad Network connects people who want a cleaner browsing experience with website owners who want to be fairly compensated for good content. These Terms set out the rules of that arrangement - what each party gets, what each party is responsible for, and how things work if something goes wrong.
The platform is built on the idea that subscribers and publishers can both win: users get a clean web, publishers get paid fairly, and nobody's data gets sold. These Terms are designed to protect that arrangement for everyone involved.
By using the platform - as a subscriber or a publisher - you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
Platform: the Zero Ad Network website, browser extension, APIs, and associated services, operated by Explosive Brains Ltd.
Subscriber: a person who has created an account and holds an active paid subscription.
Publisher: a person or business that owns a website registered in the Zero Ad Network partner programme.
Partner Site: a website that has been registered, integrated, and approved as Active in the programme.
Subscription Plan: a paid monthly plan (Clean Web, One Pass, or Freedom) that determines what features a Subscriber receives.
Extension Token: a cryptographically signed credential issued to a Subscriber's browser extension that enables features on Partner Sites.
Platform Fee: 30% of subscription revenue retained by Zero Ad Network to cover payment processing, infrastructure, and platform development.
2. For Subscribers
2.1 What you get
Your subscription gives you:
Clean Web - on Partner Sites that support it: no ads, no cookie consent banners, no marketing popups, and no non-functional third-party trackers.
One Pass - on Partner Sites that support it: free access through paywalls and their base subscription tiers.
Freedom - both Clean Web and One Pass combined.
Benefits apply only on Partner Sites that declare support for the relevant feature. On any other site, the extension remains inactive and your browsing is unaffected.
2.2 Billing and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically on the same date each month.
You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your access continues until the end of the billing period already paid for. No charge is made after cancellation.
You can switch plans once per billing cycle. The change takes effect at your next renewal.
Unused days within a billing period are not refunded, except where required by law (see 2.3 below).
2.3 Cooling-off period
If you are a consumer in the UK or the European Union, you have a 14-day right to cancel your first subscription and receive a full refund - provided you have not yet activated the browser extension and started using the service. If you have begun using the extension, you retain the right to cancel but we may deduct a proportionate amount reflecting the days of use. To request a refund under this right, email [email protected] within 14 days of your first payment.
2.4 Your responsibilities
As a subscriber you agree to:
Use the extension only for your own personal, non-commercial browsing.
Keep your account credentials private. Accounts are personal and non-transferable; sharing your Extension Token is not permitted.
Not reverse-engineer, copy, or attempt to exploit the extension or platform APIs.
Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to generate artificial telemetry or inflate partner site visit times.
Report any Partner Site behaviour that seems abusive or contrary to these Terms to [email protected].
Serious violations may result in account suspension or termination. Subscription fees already charged are not refunded in the event of termination for a conduct violation.
3. For Publishers
3.1 What you get
As a publisher in the partner programme, your site earns a monthly share of subscription revenue based on actual subscriber engagement:
Usage-based earnings: a proportional share of each subscriber's monthly fee, weighted by the time they spend on your site and whether their plan features match your site's declared features.
Unattributed Revenue Pool: subscribers who do not visit any eligible partner sites in a given month still contribute - their share is distributed equally among all eligible publishers (one share per publisher account, not per site). This means you earn something every month as an active publisher, even without a direct subscriber visit.
Earnings dashboard: a breakdown of payouts per site, transfer history, and integration status.
For full details and worked examples, see the Monetisation Guidelines.
3.2 Enrolment and activation
To participate in the programme:
Sign in and register your site. You will receive a unique site token.
Integrate the token using one of the supported methods (WordPress plugin, PHP module, Node.js module, or proxy server config). See the integration guide.
Submit your site for review. Our team manually verifies each integration before activating it.
Once approved, your site is set to Active and begins accumulating earnings.
Sites declaring the CLEAN_WEB feature must ensure that subscribers receive a genuinely clean experience - free of ads, cookie consent screens, and marketing popups. Your integration module handles this automatically.
3.3 Payouts
Earnings accumulate in your account. You do not need a connected payout method for earnings to accrue.
Once you connect a Stripe Express account, your full accumulated balance is transferred. After that, payouts are calculated and issued monthly.
Minimum payout threshold: $30.00. Balances below this carry over to the following month.
Platform Fee: Zero Ad Network retains 30% of all subscription revenue (at the current rate) before distributing the remainder to publishers. This fee covers payment processing, infrastructure, and platform operation.
Sites with a Banned status do not accumulate earnings during that period. Revenue that would have been attributed is redistributed to other eligible publishers.
3.4 Leaving the programme
You can withdraw your site at any time from your publisher dashboard. The site stops accumulating earnings immediately.
Any balance already calculated for prior months and above the $30.00 minimum will be paid out in the next monthly cycle.
Balances below $30.00 at the time of departure are held for 30 days. If you re-activate your site within that window, the balance is restored. After 30 days it is released.
If your account is terminated due to a conduct violation, accrued but unpaid earnings may be forfeited depending on the nature of the violation.
3.5 Your responsibilities
As a publisher you agree to:
Keep your site's integration active and accurate while participating in the programme.
Not game the platform - including artificially inflating visit times, coordinating with subscribers to manipulate telemetry, or registering sites with no genuine content solely to collect from the Unattributed Revenue Pool.
Deliver what you declare: if your site declares
CLEAN_WEB, subscribers must receive an ad-free, consent-banner-free experience. Not misrepresent your site's content, features, or capabilities during registration or review.
Violations may result in site suspension, permanent ban, and forfeiture of accrued earnings.
4. Revenue Sharing
After the Platform Fee, the remaining subscription revenue is distributed to active, unbanned Partner Sites each calendar month:
Each subscriber's share is allocated proportionally across the partner sites they visited, weighted by time spent, and only where plan features and site features overlap.
If a subscriber did not visit any eligible Partner Sites in a given month, their share is distributed equally among all publishers with at least one active, eligible site.
The Platform Fee is currently 30%. Changes to the Platform Fee will be announced on the platform before taking effect.
5. Platform Changes
Zero Ad Network is an evolving service. We reserve the right to update subscription prices, plan features, payout calculation rules, platform mechanics, and these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted with a revised effective date. Continued use of the platform after any change constitutes acceptance.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. In the event we discontinue the service, final payouts will be settled before closure.
6. Payments and Stripe
All payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store card details. Publisher payouts are processed through Stripe Express; Stripe's own terms govern identity verification and bank transfer decisions. We are not responsible for payment or payout decisions made by Stripe.
7. Data and Privacy
We collect your email address, subscription status, and - for subscribers - anonymised browsing telemetry from partner sites only. Telemetry is used solely to calculate revenue distributions and is not linked to personal identifiers. We do not sell personal data.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
8. Acceptable Use
The following are prohibited regardless of whether you are a subscriber or publisher:
Using bots, scripts, or automated tools to generate artificial usage data.
Attempting to reverse-engineer, copy, or exploit the token protocol, extension, or platform APIs.
Creating accounts for abuse, fraud, or competitive intelligence gathering.
Any conduct designed to harm the platform, its users, or its publishers.
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations and act - including immediate account termination - when necessary to protect the platform's integrity.
9. Limitation of Liability
We provide the platform on a best-effort basis and make no warranties regarding uninterrupted availability, uptime, or error-free operation.
We are not liable for actions taken by third-party services (Stripe, CDNs, browser vendors) or events outside our reasonable control.
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to: the subscription fees you paid us in that period (for subscribers), or the payouts we issued to you in that period (for publishers).
10. Termination
Subscribers may close their account at any time. Access continues until the end of the current paid period. The Extension Token is invalidated when the subscription expires.
Publishers may withdraw their sites at any time. Previously calculated earnings above the $30.00 minimum are settled in the next monthly cycle (see 3.4).
We may suspend or terminate accounts for violations of these Terms. Serious misconduct may result in immediate termination without prior notice.
Termination does not affect tokens already issued to Partner Sites for prior periods; those are handled through the normal payout cycle.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also rely on any mandatory consumer protection laws that apply in your country of residence.
