Terms of Service

Effective Date: December 18, 2025

By accessing or using any part of the Zero Ad Network platform (the “Platform”), including the browser extension, web services, user dashboard, or publisher tools, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, do not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

• User / Subscriber: A person who has created an account, installed the browser extension, and maintains an active paid subscription.
• Publisher / Site Owner: A person or business that owns and manages a website participating in the Zero Ad Network partner program.
• Partnered Site: A website registered and approved to participate in the revenue sharing program.
• Subscription Plan: A paid monthly plan (Clean Web, One Pass, Freedom) that determines the services and benefits a User receives.
• Token: A cryptographically signed token (ED25519) associated with a User's subscription; sent by the extension to partnered sites to enable features.

2. Eligibility

• All Users and Publishers must be of legal age in their jurisdiction to use the Platform.
• You agree not to game, abuse, or manipulate the Platform or its mechanisms in any way.
• Zero Ad Network may refuse service or terminate accounts for Users or Publishers who fail to meet eligibility requirements.

3. Browser Extension Use

Installation & Activation

• Users install the Zero Ad Network browser extension for their browser of choice.
• Users must sign in and select a subscription plan before the extension can deliver benefits.
• A subscription token is generated and synced with your extension upon successful subscription.

Subscription Plans & Benefits

• Clean Web: Removes ads, cookie consent screens, non‑functional trackers, and annoying marketing popups on partnered sites.
• One Pass: Provides access to partnered sites' basic subscription tiers and removes paywalls where applicable.
• Freedom: Combines Clean Web and One Pass features.

Subscription Terms

• Subscriptions renew monthly by default.
• Users can switch plans once per billing cycle.
• Users may cancel or re‑enable auto‑renewal at any time.
• No additional charges occur before the next billing cycle after cancellation.
• Subscriptions continue until the end of the paid period.

Extension Conduct Rules

Users agree:

• Not to reverse engineer, resell, or modify the extension.
• Not to fake time spent, fabricate telemetry, use bots, or otherwise cheat the Platform.
• That sharing accounts is prohibited; accounts are personal and non‑transferable.
• To report any misuse or malicious behavior by partnered sites.
• That violations may lead to account suspension or termination without refund.

4. Publisher / Site Owner Participation

Program Enrolment

Site owners may enroll by signing in and adding their site.
To become active:

• Integrate one of Zero Ad Network's site modules, CMS plugin, or use a static site integration method.
• Ensure the site does not display ads, third‑party trackers, cookie consent screens, or marketing popups during participation.

Verification & Activation

• Sites must implement a “Welcome Header” correctly (via HTTP header or HTML <meta> tag).
• Once automated verification passes, a manual review is conducted.
• Approved sites are marked Active and become eligible for payouts.

Revenue & Payout Rules

• Telemetry (time spent / page views) from User visits determines payout distributions.
• Unattributed Revenue Pool: If a subscriber visits no partnered sites in a month, their subscription value is shared evenly across all Active sites.
• Payouts from the Unattributed Revenue Pool are split equally among site owners (not by site count per owner).
• Banned sites do not accrue telemetry and thus receive no payouts until reinstated.

Publisher Conduct

Publishers agree:

• Not to game the system or manipulate user experiences maliciously.
• To honour the principles of high‑quality, unobstructed web content.
• That reported or detected abuse may result in site suspension, ban, or forfeiture of payouts.

5. Payments & Revenue Sharing

• Revenue from User subscriptions is distributed based on each User's individual usage patterns.
• Zero Ad Network retains a 30% platform fee from all subscription payments to cover merchant, infrastructure, development, and operational costs.
• Users acknowledge and agree that revenue distribution is subject to these rules and may vary based on telemetry.

6. Platform Rights & Changes

Zero Ad Network reserves the right to:

• Change subscription plans, prices, and platform features at any time.
• Modify the platform's rules, payout mechanisms, or service offerings.
• Terminate or suspend accounts for any reason, including policy violations.
• Update or change fees and business practices as the platform evolves.

We strive to notify Users and Publishers of major changes, but notice is not guaranteed.

We do not guarantee uninterrupted service or platform availability; services are provided on a best‑effort basis.

7. Data, Privacy & Tracking

What We Collect

• Minimal user data from login providers (email, name, IP, user agent).
• Browser extension telemetry limited to partner site visits and durations.
• Basic proxy logs and error data for platform operations.

We do not collect payment card information; Stripe manages all payment data.

Cookies

• We use cookies only as necessary for logged‑in sessions.
• Stripe may set cookies during payments or payouts.
• We do not control how third parties (e.g., Stripe or CDNs) may use cookies or related data.

Compliance

We adhere to UK law and GDPR requirements. Any disputes are subject to UK courts.

8. Limitations & Disclaimers

• We make no warranties regarding uptime, stability, or error‑free operation.
• We are not responsible for Stripe's actions, payment acceptance, or payout decisions.
• Users and Publishers accept that occasional bugs, errors, or disagreements may occur; we encourage reporting issues for resolution.

9. Termination

• Users and Publishers may terminate their relationship with Zero Ad Network at any time.
• Termination does not remove past usage/tokens from servers already sent to partnered sites.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United Kingdom.

Zero Ad Network strives to make the web cleaner, fairer, and more enjoyable for both Users and Publishers, balancing user experience with fair compensation for creators. Your use of the platform constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
