In the page content

For platforms you don't control — a video channel, a stream, a profile on someone else's site — you can't set a header or a meta tag. Instead, write your Publisher ID straight into the content the page already shows.

Publisher ID

This is an example Publisher ID. Replace it with your own before using it.

The usual place is the description: a video description, a channel or stream "about" section, or a pinned post. The ID must appear in the visible page text the extension scans; hidden or collapsed content may not be detected. Platform layout changes can affect discovery, so check recognition in the extension.

When a subscriber views the page and the extension finds the ID, it records activity. After upload and processing, the integration appears under Creator content in your dashboard.

On YouTube

Put your ID at the top of the video description — it's the text the extension reads on the watch page, and the top is what wins if the description ever contains more than one ID (see below).

  1. In YouTube Studio → Content, open the video and edit its Description (or set it in Details while uploading).
  2. Paste your zapub_… ID on the first line, then your normal description underneath.
  3. Save. Do the same for each video you want counted — or add it to your channel description (Studio → Customization → Basic info) so it covers your channel pages too.

On Twitch

Twitch has no page-wide description, so use an About panel under your stream — that text is part of the channel page the extension reads.

  1. On your channel page, turn on Edit Panels and Add a Text panel (or edit an existing one).
  2. Put your zapub_… ID in the panel's description text and save.
  3. It also works in your stream "About" / bio section; a panel near the top is the most reliable.

How creator integrations earn

Because the platform still runs its own ads, this counts as the creator integration type: you earn from the attention your content gets, but with a subscriber-controlled weight from 0% to 100%, reduced to 50% of the initial time-based share by default. See How you earn.

No membership-verification SDK is needed on the third-party platform. Add the ID and check that the extension recognizes the intended publisher; hidden text or another ID appearing earlier can prevent attribution.

Put it near the top, and keep the prefix

Two small rules keep your earnings yours:

  • Include the full zapub_ prefix. A bare ID without it is ignored.
  • Put it high up. The scanner uses the first zapub_ occurrence in visible body text, then validates its shape. An earlier malformed occurrence can prevent detection; an earlier ID elsewhere on the page can take precedence. This is a discovery rule, not proof of content ownership.

Per-page stats

Each page or video under a creator integration is tracked on its own, so your dashboard can show you which ones subscribers spent the most time on. It's a handy read on what's working — though payment is always credited to you as the publisher, not to individual pages.
